Fees and neutrality charges effective as of October 2026

Balancing neutrality charges and Conversion fee (H->L) remains at zero, Conversion neutrality charge and VTP fee decreases for the new billing period

Berlin/Düsseldorf, 19. August 2026 Trading Hub Europe GmbH (THE) publishes the fees and neutrality charges for the billing period beginning October 1, 2026.

The SLP balancing neutrality charge, the RLM balancing neutrality charge, and the conversion fee for converting H-gas to L-gas remain at 0 EUR/MWh. The VTP fee and the conversion neutrality charge are reduced to 0.00141 EUR/MWh (VTP) and 0.11 EUR/MWh (conversion neutrality charge), respectively.

In accordance with the GaBi Gas 2.0 regulation, the market area manager is required to calculate and collect two separate balancing neutrality charges for SLP and RLM exit points. The setting of the corresponding balancing neutrality charges at 0 EUR/MWh is attributable, among other factors, to the continued stability of the market and price situation, the projected development of balancing gas demand, and the current balances of the balancing neutrality accounts.

The conversion fee for converting H-gas to L-gas must be set in such a way that the market has a sufficient incentive for cross-quality gas trading, while at the same time ensuring that the market area manager does not become the predominant procurer of physical L-gas volumes. Under the currently applicable provisions, no conversion fee is provided for the conversion from L-gas to H-gas.

Based on the current status of the conversion account and the forecasts made, THE continues to set the incentive-based conversion fee for the conversion from H-gas to L-gas at 0 EUR/MWh. The conversion neutrality charge, along with the conversion fee, is used to cover the costs of commercial and technical conversion.

Conversion currently continues to take place almost exclusively from L-gas to H-gas. Given the continued high—though lower than last year—conversion volumes from L-gas to H-gas and the resulting demand for balancing gas, the conversion neutrality charge is being reduced to 0.11 EUR/MWh.

The VTP fee, which is charged to both the sending and receiving balancing group managers for each nominated transfer of gas volumes, will be 0.00141 EUR/MWh effective October 1, 2026.

The balancing neutrality charges, the conversion neutrality charge, the conversion fee, and the VTP fee are set for a period of 12 months.
