In January 2025, the Federal Network Agency's Ruling Chamber 7 initiated special abuse proceedings against Trading Hub Europe at the request of energielenker Handels GmbH, energie schwaben GmbH, Envitec Energy GmbH & Co. KG, GETEC Energy Management GmbH, GETEC green energy GmbH, Stadtwerke Passau GmbH, STAWAG and Verbio SE, special abuse proceedings were initiated against Trading Hub Europe. These abuse proceedings concerned the review of the legality of Trading Hub Europe's conduct in connection with the termination of a biogas balancing group contract.
Last Friday, Ruling Chamber 7 published its decision on the abuse proceedings. All applications were dismissed as unfounded and the legality of Trading Hub Europe's conduct in connection with the termination was therefore established.
“Potentially necessary terminations of balancing group contracts are always examined in detail by us, represent the ultima ratio and are only carried out if the contractual possibilities allow it,” says Sanel Rekic, Head of the Legal Department at Trading Hub Europe. “We are pleased that the proceedings have now been concluded and welcome the decision of the ruling chamber.”
